Core Aeration Common Questions
Question: What is Core Aeration?

Answer : Core aeration is the process of making small finger sized holes  in the lawn and
                depositing the removed cores on the surface to break down. This process allows
                fertilizer,water and oxygen direct access to the grass roots.


Question: How do I know if my yard needs aeration?

Answer  : If your lawn has clay in it or is subject to either heavy traffic or has standing
                 water after it rains or tends to brown easily in the heat then your lawn is a excellent
                 candidate. But in reality most every lawn can benefit from annual core aeration.


Question: When Should I aerate?


Answer  : The best time to aerate in our part of the country is in the Spring ( April, May, June )
                 or in the Fall ( September, October )


Question: When will I see results from Core Aeration?


Answer  : Depending on the condition of your lawn you may or may not notice any immediate
                 change to the condition of your turf however Subterranean root growth and the
                 overall health and stress tolerance of your lawn will begin to improve within weeks.


Question: Is aeration a one time fix to my lawn problems?


Answer  : No Aeration needs to be an ongoing part of a lawn care plan which  includes
                 fertilizing, Lime Applications ( If Required ) proper mowing and watering.


Question: How long will it take for the cores left on the lawn to disappear?


Answer  : Depending on the weather, soil conditions and how often your lawn
                 is mowed they should break down and disappear in 2 to 4 weeks


Question: Should I Seed or Fertilize after Core Aeration?


Answer  : Yes Seed and Fertilizer can more readily get to the root structure
                 of the grass plant right after your lawn has been aerated.
